The San Francisco 49ers dropped their Week 2 contest to the Seattle Seahawks 12-9. Niner Noise looks at which players saw their stock rise or fall during the bout.

Almost wasn’t quite enough for the San Francisco 49ers in Week 2.

The Niners did manage to hold a lead over their division rivals, the Seattle Seahawks, in the fourth quarter on Sunday. That’s quite an achievement for San Francisco at CenturyLink Field — a place where the 49ers haven’t won since 2011.

But Seattle pulled off the 12-9 victory, thanks largely to quarterback Russell Wilson’s scrambling abilities and a go-ahead touchdown to wide receiver Paul Richardson with 7:06 left in regulation.

For the rebuilding 49ers, one could view this narrow loss as a moral victory. Seattle is a team many could easily peg as a Super Bowl contender, while the Niners… well, it’s going to be a long rebuild.

Since it is a rebuild, though, it helps looking at player stock at various points throughout the season — determining who is making a case to be a key fit for the long run.

Niner Noise did this after San Francisco’s Week 1 loss to the Carolina Panthers, so let’s run it again and look at those players who saw their stock either rise or fall on the road versus the Seahawks.
