Cleveland Browns

Are the Browns starting quarterback DeShone Kizer too soon?

There’s a lot to like about the Cleveland Browns in 2017. They had one of the better NFL Draft classes, and they’ve also got a promising young quarterback in rookie DeShone Kizer.

Kizer beat out his competition to assume starting duties in Week 1.

On one hand, this is the right move for head coach Hue Jackson. Kizer could easily be the future, and it’s a smart move to let him develop around a relatively young cast.

But remember, this Browns team is still in the initial phases of a rebuild. Jackson is running the risk of destroying Kizer’s confidence right out of the gate, not unlike a number of previous Cleveland quarterbacks in recent memory.
