The San Francisco 49ers have trimmed their regular-season roster down to 53 players. Niner Noise takes a look at what the depth chart might be in Week 1.

After one of the toughest two-day periods in the entire NFL, the San Francisco 49ers have trimmed their 90-man offseason roster down to 53 players in advance of the regular season.

A number of good players were released too — defensive tackle Quinton Dial was one such name, and even quarterback Matt Barkley couldn’t stick around as a primary backup.

It’s tough, as many players will see their NFL dreams come to a close. As for the 49ers, you can check out the list of cuts here and here.

Still, this is part of the game. And we can now shift our focus to breaking down how San Francisco’s 53-man depth chart will look heading into the 2017 season.

In this slideshow, we’ll evaluate each position and speculate the starters and backups, including all 53 players who make the cut.

Let’s kick things off on special teams, shall we?
