Niner Noise takes a look at five San Francisco 49ers players to watch heading into Week 3 of the preseason against the Minnesota Vikings.

Turnovers and penalties. Both are sure signs of a bad team.

While the San Francisco 49ers’ showing against the Denver Broncos left a lot to be desired, it brought to light some positive and negative performances by some players.

After two preseason games, the 49ers have accumulated 28 penalties for 217 yards. It’s a major problem — the first serious team-wide one head coach Kyle Shanahan faces.

This will certainly be a focal point for the Niners, as they gear up for a preseason road contest at the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday, August 27 at 8 p.m. ET.

There are some good points to watch too, and we’ll get into five players fans should pay attention to when San Francisco and Minnesota square off in what is generally viewed as the most authentic and important preseason game of this exhibition period.
