The San Francisco 49ers have five of their likely six wide receiver spots set for the 53-man roster. Who are the best choices for spot No. 6 when the NFL preseason concludes?

It’s likely San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan keeps six wide receivers on his 53-man roster this season.

Barring injuries and/or setbacks, this would probably be the pecking order for the first five:

  1. Pierre Garcon
  2. Marquise Goodwin
  3. Jeremy Kerley
  4. Aldrick Robinson
  5. Trent Taylor

That leaves one remaining spot.

It’s a heated competition too. Depth receivers like Victor Bolden Jr., Kendrick Bourne, Aaron Burbridge, DeAndre Carter, Louis Murphy, Tim Patrick and DeAndre Smelter are all vying for a chance to make the cut.

So what are the best options?

In this slideshow, we’ll look at three of the most promising choices San Francisco has as it tries to put together the best receiving crop possible.
