Outside splits with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Murphy spent the 2013 season with the New York Giants, but saw limited offensive playing time behind the trio of wide receivers Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks and Rueben Randle. Murphy was active for 14 games, but had only six catches for a single touchdown.

Murphy then signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, before the Bucs cut him a day before the 2014 regular season. However, Murphy was re-signed three weeks later, and quickly made his mark as a viable third receiver for the team both on the outside and from the slot.

Murphy fights his way past the corner and makes a very difficult touchdown reception:
