One season with the Carolina Panthers
After the 2011 season, the Oakland Raiders traded Murphy to the Carolina Panthers. Murphy was the Panthers’ third wide receiver — behind Steve Smith and Brandon LaFell — and was used primarily as a deep threat for quarterback Cam Newton.
