No. 3: Cornerback Will Redmond

What say you? Another “All-ACL” pick?

Will Redmond was in a prime position earlier this offseason to capture San Francisco’s primary nickel cornerback duties in 2017. He was slated to battle with free-agent pickup, K’Waun Williams, for this role.

And Williams also missed the entirety of the 2016 season.

Early in training camp, this position battle seemed to be neck and neck. But as Niners Wire’s Rob Lowder pointed out, Williams appears to be pulling away from the competition:

This doesn’t bode well for Redmond, whom the Niners drafted with a Round 3 pick a year ago.

Redmond will need some serious highlights in camp and the preseason to rebound and catch Williams if the former expects to make the roster.
