No. 1: Offensive Guard Joshua Garnett

The 49ers will likely be a bit more patient with offensive guard Joshua Garnett — a first-round pick from the 2017 NFL Draft — than they would be with a number of other players on this list.

But that doesn’t remove Garnett from the hot seat.

Garnett’s rookie season was a disappointment, although one should hope for a jump in production his second season.

The main problem, however, is Garnett is still trying to develop his pass protection. And in this 1-on-1 drill at training camp, Garnett is easily pushed back by EDGE Tank Carradine (h/t Jennifer Lee Chan of Niners Nation):

Efforts like these reveal why Garnett is rotating back and forth with Zane Beadles on the first-team unit.

Ideally, Garnett winds up winning this competition and lives up to his first-round draft stock.

But that appears to be a ways away, which puts more pressure on Garnett to perform.
