No. 4: Aldrick Robinson

Like Pierre Garcon, wide receiver Aldrick Robinson has the bonus of having experience under head coach Kyle Shanahan, namely from Robinson’s tenure with the Atlanta Falcons last year.

Robinson has never been a true No. 1 threat at the pro level, averaging just 17.2 yards per game.

And at 5-foot-10 and 187 pounds, he’s built more like a slot receiver than someone capable of playing on the outside.

Still, this is a useful commodity for the Niners to have.

Robinson’s speed and separation ability is going to be something to watch, as demonstrated in this 1-on-1 matchup versus cornerback Keith Reaser (h/t Rob Lowder of Niners Wire):

Unlike Robinson’s situation in Atlanta, the 49ers don’t exactly have a top tandem of receivers vying for catches. This should open up some opportunities for the 28 year old as he looks to make an impact this season.
