49ers Training Camp & Preseason Schedule
Earlier this month, NBC Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco reported the Niners were likely to have yet another open training camp practice:
This wouldn’t be unprecedented. A year ago, the 49ers hosted an open practice at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco — the same stadium in which the team played from 1946 through 1970.
The same open practice will be held at Levi’s Stadium now, and interested persons can find out more information here about attending.

49ers Preseason Schedule
The Niners open up the preseason on Friday, August 11 on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Here’s the complete preseason schedule with local broadcast information:
- Friday, August 11 @ Kansas City Chiefs, 9 p.m. ET — KPIX
- Saturday, August 19 vs. Denver Broncos, 10 p.m. ET — KPIX
- Sunday, August 27 @ Minnesota Vikings, 8 p.m. ET — NBC
- Thursday, August 31 vs. San Diego Chargers, 10 p.m. ET — KPIX
An important change takes place this year. Unlike previous seasons, NFL teams now have until after the fourth preseason week to make full roster cuts from 90 players down to 53. Previously, teams were required to make an initial round of cuts, down to 75 players, after Week 3 of the preseason.
The deadline for cuts is 1 p.m. ET on September 2.
