Tight End: Vernon Davis

Season: 2009

Some of you might have had former 49ers tight end Vernon Davis on your fantasy team back in the 2009 season, and that would have been a very, very good thing.

Davis’ 2009 campaign was the best of his career, living up to the hype that earned him a Round 1 NFL Draft selection by San Francisco three years earlier.

The 49ers’ mismatch nightmare accumulated 78 receptions for 965 yards and an NFL-leading 13 receiving touchdowns on the year.

That would have accumulated 174.5 fantasy points over the course of the year.

Davis had a similarly successful year in 2013, again posting 13 receiving touchdowns but on 850 yards.

This slight difference gives the 2009 campaign the edge for best tight end fantasy season in Niners history.
