As fantasy football owners gear up for the 2017 NFL season, Niner Noise looks back at San Francisco 49ers and compiles an all-time fantasy team you would have loved to have on your fantasy roster.

The San Francisco 49ers and their fans are no strangers to great seasons.

Fantasy football has made such seasons even more enticing and exciting. As the popularity of fantasy football has grown in recent decades, one might think to look back at Niners greats of yesteryear and wonder what it would have been like to own that player, in that season, on my fantasy team.

Well, you’re in luck… kind of.

You obviously can’t go back and put these players, and their storied seasons, on your fantasy roster now. But if you could, well, you’d probably come away with a fantasy championship.

So as the NFL’s dead period starts to wind down, and fantasy football preparations gear up, let’s look back at what would be the ideal 49ers fantasy team of all time.

Our list is simple — we base the selections off the top Niners players/units’ best seasons.

To determine the fantasy scoring, we’ll use ESPN’s standard-league scoring system found here. At times, though, we’ll take some liberties where applicable.

So let’s kick this list off with an all-too-forgotten fantasy commodity — the best 49ers kicker in fantasy history.
