Tennessee Titans

Is Marcus Mariota on the verge of being the NFL’s next elite QB?

If Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota was playing in a larger market, he’d be one of the most talked about players heading into the 2017 season.

Like the Buccaneers, the Titans could easily wind up being a “Cinderella” team this season. Already coming off a surprising 9-7 season last year (remember, they were 3-13 the year before), the Titans only got better on offense via the NFL Draft.

Chief among these pickups were wide receivers Taywan Taylor (Round 3) and Corey Davis (Round 1).

Davis was arguably the best receiver in the draft, and he fills an immediate need Tennessee had entering this offseason — a true No. 1 wideout.

All this plays right into the hands of Mariota, who will look to build upon his impressive 95.6 passer rating from a year ago.

And if things go well, both Mariota and the Titans will continue their upward trend.
