How far will the deconstruction project go?

Pick a player on the Jets’ 2016 roster, and there’s a good chance he’s not there anymore.

Seriously. Try it. You’ll see.

Wide receiver Brandon Marshall, gone. Cornerback Darrelle Revis, released. Center Nick Mangold, no longer there. Right tackle Breno Giacomini, gone. Wide receiver Eric Decker, gone.

In all honesty, this is exactly what the Jets need to do. They’re terrible, perhaps the worst team in the NFL right now. So blowing everything up is likely the only way to make things better.

Just how far will it go?

Will the deconstruction eventually include quarterbacks Bryce Petty and/or Christian Hackenberg? Perhaps it should. And what about the front office? How long is head coach Todd Bowles’ job safe?

Well, at least Jets fans have J-E-T-E to think about in 2017.

Even the “S” wasn’t safe.
