No. 7: Eric Davis

49ers Tenure: 1990 – 1995

Pro Bowl Selections: 2

Drafted in 1990 in the second round, Eric Davis’ best season in the red and gold also came at a perfect time for the team. In his final season with the 49ers, in 1995, Davis was voted to the Pro Bowl and named first-team All-Pro. It was only one of only two times when Davis earned those accolades.

His All-Pro season with San Francisco featured three interceptions and 46 tackles, which coincided with the 49ers winning their fifth Super Bowl. Davis departed following that victory to Carolina, but his legacy lived on with the team.

Davis’ 12 interceptions place him in the top 30 (26th overall), and his 272 tackles are the third most by a cornerback in franchise history.

The relationship between team and player didn’t cease once Davis’ career was over, as the former cornerback worked for a number of years doing media work for the 49ers.
