No. 8: Don Griffin

49ers Tenure: 1986 – 1993

Pro Bowl Selections: 0

Also like Berry, 1986 6th-round selection Don Griffin was never selected to a Pro Bowl during his career. But that’s not the determining factor into grading a player’s success.

Success was something that Griffin did have with the 49ers. He was handpicked by the legendary Bill Walsh, who at one point claimed Griffin was one of the best rookies at his position. That’s praise that shouldn’t be taken lightly. Griffin was also a member of two Super Bowl-winning teams, in 1988 and 1989.

Most notably, he is the leading among cornerbacks franchise history when it comes to tackles with 422.

Additionally, Griffin ranks in the top 10 for most interceptions in franchise history — 22 (tied with Berry and Tony Parrish).
