Chicago Bears — Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky

Well, Chicago Bears fans may not be watching rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky all season long. He’ll likely start out on the bench after the Bears moved up to the No. 2 spot to grab him in the NFL Draft.

But that trade-up alone makes Trubisky the player to watch here.

In all likelihood, Chicago starts off the season with free-agent pickup, quarterback Mike Glennon. After all, Glennon’s three-year, $45 million deal should warrant top-QB consideration, right?

Keep in mind though, Glennon hasn’t started a game since 2014. And if the Bears get off to a rough start, especially under center, Trubisky’s name will be the one fans chant for.

It’s not exactly an ideal situation. Chicago does boast a good offensive line, and running back Jordan Howard showed some things last year. But there aren’t exactly a lot of weapons elsewhere.

And no, veteran wide receiver Victor Cruz isn’t going to help much.

Chicago put their eggs into Trubisky’s basket, and he’ll either make or break the franchise over the next few years.

Starting now.
