Niner Noise tries to predict which San Francisco 49ers players and units wind up earning our own awards and accolades once the 2017 NFL season is in the books.

The San Francisco 49ers of 2017 look nothing like the team that earned a 2-14 record a year ago.

Under the guidance of general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan, the Niners have gone through vast roster changes this offseason. And for the first time in a while, there’s hope for a once-proud franchise.

It’s impossible to entirely predict how every single player on the team’s roster will fare this upcoming year. Each offseason brings a sense of hope, so we have to curb the enthusiasm a bit.

Still, it’s worth predicting who the standouts and busts will be once 2017 is in the books.

At the end of each season, Niner Noise dishes out our own year-in-review awards. Needless to say, last year wasn’t particularly inspiring, forcing us to have a little fun instead. But there were a few noteworthy storylines and performances to tout.

Using this template, and with a few other awards to throw in, let’s predict what the season-ending awards will be for San Francisco this upcoming season.

Kicking off with the most improved stat line.
