No. 8: Keena Turner

49ers Tenure: 1980 – 1990

Pro Bowl Selections: 1

Loyal to the 49ers, linebacker Keena Turner spent all 11 seasons playing in San Francisco, helping the franchise to win four Super Bowls during that time.  He was selected to the Pro Bowl in the 1984 season, which was the same season the 49ers led the league in defense (14.2 points per game).

That was also the year San Francisco won its third Super Bowl of the decade, partly due in part to Turner’s play on defense. There are no tackling statistics from when he played, but factoring in his games played and started, he’s probably around the 400 range which would place him in the top 10.

True to his loyalty, Turner came back to the 49ers organization after his playing career when he was hired as vice president of football affairs in 2008. He’s held that position ever since.
