No. 2: Dave Wilcox

49ers Tenure: 1964 – 1974

Pro Bowl Selections: 7

The only other San Francisco 49er linebacker enshrined in the Hall of Fame, Dave Wilcox is regarded as a legend. He was a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and voted to two first team All-Pros (in 1971 and 1972).

There are no statistics available for his time, but Wilcox figures to rank among the top of the 49er leaderboards due to his long playing career and selection to the Hall of Fame. It’s evident in his hall of fame biography the respect he garnered during his career:

"Nicknamed “The Intimidator” for aggressive style of play . . . Considered by many to be the finest outside linebacker of his era  . . .  Particularly effective at keeping tight ends from getting off the line . . . Prided himself on not allowing opponent to block him."

Wilcox was one of the best linebackers to ever represent the 49er logo — no doubt about it.
