Wide Receiver

The Niners are better at receiver than they were a few months ago, no-one can deny that.

But there isn’t a legitimate starting option across from Pierre Garcon, with Marquise Goodwin more of a boom-or-bust deep threat and Jeremy Kerley, Bruce Ellington, Trent Taylor and Aldrick Robinson all slot guys.

Maybe a surprise player makes a push in the offseason, with DeAndre Smelter perhaps a candidate to do so, but at this point it feels like the 49ers are a receiver short.

Still, that’s better than being several receivers short – as was the case in 2016.
