Prediction Summary of the 49ers 2017 Season

Our previous Niner Noise schedule prediction had six wins penciled in. That wouldn’t be bad for this unit, and it still wouldn’t be in head coach Kyle Shanahan’s first year in Santa Clara.

But this prediction has seven wins on the year, most notably the Week 1 victory over the Panthers.

A seven-win season for the 49ers would seem something like a miracle. While the parity in the NFL is great, coming from a two-win season a year ago to being one game short of the .500 mark would signify some dramatic improvement.

Before we worry and pick apart the record predictions, here are some other easier predictions to make about the upcoming season:

  • Defensive additions will make the 49ers finish within the top 20 in yards/points allowed.
  • RB Joe Williams winds up being the starter, by the end of the season, over Carlos Hyde.
  • QB Brian Hoyer throws for over 3,000 yards.
  • San Francisco has a defender post double-digit sacks.
  • At least four 49ers make the Pro Bowl.

Some of these predictions will be addressed in another slideshow, so be on the lookout.

In the meantime, we can sit back and hope the 49ers finish with at least seven wins on the season. It’s very possible.
