Key NFL Draft Additions: DE Taco Charlton, CB Chidobe Awuzie, CB Jourdan Lewis, WR Ryan Switzer

The Dallas Cowboys manage to jump up a spot in our NFL power rankings after making some strides to address key free-agent losses within the secondary.

It could have started off in Round 1, but Dallas elected to go with defensive end Taco Charlton. The Cowboys’ front seven could use some help, so this pick makes a lot of sense. But the bigger problem was in the defensive backfield.

Cornerbacks Chidobe Awuzie and Jourdan Lewis should help right away. Safety Xavier Woods, taken in Round 6, might be an option in a few years. So the safety position remains a bit of an issue.

Wide receiver Ryan Switzer is intriguing, although he’ll likely be little more than a special teams contributor his rookie season.
