Oakland Raiders. 5. team. 28. . 12-4.

Key NFL Draft Additions: CB Gareon Conley, S Obi Melifonwu, DT Eddie Vanderdoes

The Oakland Raiders fall a spot in our NFL power rankings simply based off the legal implications that could make the first-round selection of talented cornerback Gareon Conley a big mistake.

Conley’s sexual assault question just before the draft overshadows anything regarding when, and if, he would be drafted. Everything is up in the air right now, but this was a risky pick for Oakland.

If cleared, Conley and second-round safety Obi Melifonwu should help a problematic and patchwork secondary in Oakland. General manager Reggie McKenzie has made great strides putting together this up-and-up Raiders team, and these two selections hopefully end up reflecting positively on his efforts.

Defensive tackle Eddie Vanderdoes also adds a solid presence within the middle of the defensive line, which should free up linebackers Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin to make more plays.
