Key NFL Draft Additions: QB Mitchell Trubisky, TE Adam Shaheen

The Chicago Bears tumble all the way to the bottom of our NFL power rankings for a number of reasons. But chief among them was the trade-up to land North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky.

Chicago gave up three picks — a third- and fourth-round selection, plus a 2018 third-round pick — to the 49ers in order to ensure San Francisco wouldn’t grab Trubisky. And the Niners never would have in the first place.

Sure, other teams might have moved into that spot. But the Bears were on the wrong end of “highway robbery.”

And after dishing out all that money for free-agent quarterback Mike Glennon, fans have to be scratching their heads in Chicago.
