Wide Receiver

One area that the 49ers certainly addressed in the off-season was the wide receiver position.

Pierre Garçon and Marquise Goodwin are not only capable pick ups, they also figure to be the starting wideouts for the upcoming season.

However, fans can’t help but wonder if the 49ers are still missing something at the position. Although these two have the ability to run away with the game, certain questions still remain unanswered. Is Garçon a true number one? And if he is, how much longer will he play? Can Marquise Goodwin blow the top off of a capable defense, or will he be overpowered by a top-notch corner?

The pickup of Aldrick Robinson certainly adds speed along the sidelines with Goodwin. While the addition of Garçon gives the team a very reliable pair of hands.

However, all the great 49ers teams have had that one sure stand out at the position. What would those championship teams be without Jerry Rice or a Terrell Owens?

There are still capable receivers left on the board such as Josh Reynolds, Dede Westbrook and Jehu Chesson. Will Lynch pull the trigger and select one of these young studs? Only time will tell.
