. New York Jets. 31. team. 30. . 5-11

The New York Jets might be have a better 2016 record than many of the teams sitting towards the cellar, but that doesn’t mean they can’t fall in NFL power rankings.

New York owns the No. 6 overall pick in the draft, but it’s anyone’s guess how it will be spent.

Even more discerning is the fact we don’t know if the Jets are going through a rebuild or reconstructing the roster around what they currently have. The defensive front, with Sheldon Richardson and Muhammad Wilkerson, is nowhere near as dominant as it used to be. And the secondary got almost nothing out of cornerback Darrelle Revis last year.

Yes, there are needs aplenty here.

Quarterback is one of those needs. But is New York in a position to take another shot at a signal-caller early in the draft, all the while negating other pressing needs?

It’s not a good position to be in, which is why the Jets fall in the rankings.
