Round 1 — (No. 12 overall , Mock Trade with Cleveland) Marshon Lattimore, Ohio State

The Niners haven’t shied away from there pursuit of a trade out of the No. 2 spot, which isn’t surprising given the needs across the whole depth chart. Let’s assume they trade down to the No. 12 spot with the Cleveland Browns in a package deal to gain more draft picks and select Ohio State corner Marshon Lattimore.

This would be good value for the Niners, and they get a player with huge upside and someone who is the most NFL ready out of all the corners in this draft class.

He has the prototypical DB build (6-foot-0, 193 pounds) and the speed (4.36 40-yard dash) to keep up with NFL wideouts on an island.

Lattimore is superb in coverage and anticipates routes as if he is running the route for them. There are some durability concerns. But if he can stay healthy, there is Pro Bowl potential here.
