The safety position is going to be one of importance for San Francisco’s defense under coordinator Robert Saleh.
It’s possible this group includes incumbents Eric Reid (strong) and Jimmie Ward (free) this season, barring any draft changes.
Adding LSU strong safety Jamal Adams would be one enticing option, as he’d be expected to line up in the box instead of deep within the secondary in Cover 3 schemes.
