No. 4: Offensive Tackle Kwame Harris

No. 26 Overall in the 2003 NFL Draft

It’s hard to argue the 49ers messed up big time with the selection of former Stanford offensive lineman Kwame Harris back in 2003.

Taken with the 26th overall pick, the Niners were looking to add an influx of talent along the offensive line. Especially as overpriced veterans were being pushed out of the picture as the team was dealing with major cap issues in the early part of the decade.

Harris managed to stick around with San Francisco for five seasons, although his production was anything but ideal.

One of the major problems with Harris’ game was his inability to provide adequate pass protection. This convinced someone to create a forum called, “List of things that block better than Kwame Harris.”

A picture of a turnstile atop the board tells you all you need to know.

Harris’ off-the-field issues in subsequent years also pointed to just how disappointing this selection wound up being.

Yeah, he’s a solid addition to this not-so-glorious list.
