As the 2017 NFL Draft approaches, writers and analysts are dishing out mock drafts seemingly everyday. Let’s examine what they’re saying about the San Francisco 49ers.

The second step in the 49ers rebuild this offseason is set to get underway at the draft on April 27-29. That draft has been the focus of NFL writers as they try to pinpoint what teams will do during the seven-round affair.

Sitting at No. 2 in the draft, the 49ers are one of the more intriguing teams due to a couple of factors. First, after Texas A&M EDGE Myles Garrett, there’s no clear-cut prospect to take at No. 2. Garrett is widely assumed to be going No. 1 to the Cleveland Browns, leaving the Niners with a tough decision of who to select.

Second, even there’s no clear-cut prospect, the Niners have holes to fill — meaning the pool of players they’re looking at is large. That might scare teams below them, which could prompt one of them to seek out a trade with San Francisco.

All that intrigue has led to diverse speculation about what the 49ers might do in the draft.

What are NFL writers saying in their mock drafts? Let’s look at varied formats and see what’s been predicted.
