Round 4: Wide Receiver Malachi Dupre, LSU

Height/Weight: 6-foot-2, 196 pounds

San Francisco spent its first three picks on the defensive side of the ball but could stand to use some reinforcements on offense.

Especially in the passing game.

Even though general manager John Lynch brought in wideouts Pierre Garcon, Marquise Goodwin, Aldrick Robinson and re-signed Jeremy Kerley, some promising youth here would be a smart addition.

LSU’s Malachi Dupre has the combination of speed and size to develop into a solid receiving weapon, especially in an offense like that of head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Dupree managed to run a 4.52 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, which isn’t terrible for a receiver of his size. But his hands and leaping ability are what impress scouts, and Pro Football Focus broke down.

He probably won’t be a day-one starter. But with some fine tuning, Dupre could turn into a nice addition for Shanahan’s passing game.
