Nose Tackle

The 49ers have signed former Miami Dolphins’ nose Earl Mitchell but Mitchell is certainly not the longterm answer at the position. The team needs to add more talent at NT position.

Thankfully, the 2017 draft class is loaded with talent all along the defensive line. An excellent NT prospect to target in the fourth-round is Oklahoma State’s Vincent Taylor. Taylor is a stout run-defender who also brings pass-rushing skills to the table.

Per Walter Football, Taylor is described as a “…sleeper prospect who could end up being a nice value pick in the mid-rounds of the 2017 NFL Draft.”

Taylor had an excellent 2016 season recording 51 tackles, 13 for a loss, seven sacks and two forced fumbles. While Taylor played well last year, he is still yet to hit his ceiling. He would be a hulking presence on Saleh’s defensive front.

  1. Draft Oklahoma State, NT, Vincent Taylor in the fourth round.
  2. Draft UCLA, NT, Eddie Vanderdoes in the fifth round.
