LEO

The second most pressing need is the LEO position.

For those not unfamiliar with the term, the LEO position is the EDGE rusher or what would be the outside linebacker in a 3-4 defensive alignment charged with pressuring the QB.

The 49ers have some depth options with Aaron Lynch and Eli Harold but what is needed is an elite talent capable of consistently getting to the QB.

Enter one T.J. Watt, who is the little brother of the infamous J.J. Watt.

The younger Watt played as an OLB for the Wisconsin Badgers prior to declaring for the NFL Draft. Since declaring, he has been steadily climbing up scouts’ draft boards and it’s not due to the lineage (although it certainly helps).

When matching his production to his film then match that up against his level of competition, you can’t help but be impressed. This is why scouts are liking the younger Watt brother more and more as the draft nears.

Not too mention Watt has great physical measurements and excellent combine numbers to boot.

  1. Draft Wisconsin, OLB, T.J. Watt with the second-round pick.
  2. Draft Houston, OLB, Tyus Bowser with fifth-round pick.
  3. Sign Jelani Jenkins to a one-year, three-million dollar prove it deal.
