5. Terrell Owens

He may not yet be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but Terrell Owens belongs in Canton and he belongs on this list.

While his time with the 49ers ended in an acrimonious exit and was chequered by a number of controversial celebrations, Owens’ dominance while with San Francisco is unquestioned.

Owens topped 1,000 yards five times during his Niners career and posted double-digit touchdowns on four occasions – leading the league in scores in 2001 and 2002.

A three-time All-Pro with the Niners, Owens should be remembered for the Catch II in the playoff win over the Packers and his exploits in the thrilling Wild Card triumph against the Giants rather than the way his time with the team came to an end.
