Stephon Gilmore

The rich just keep getting richer. The New England Patriots, the 2016 Super Bowl Champions, signed top cornerback free agent Stephon Gilmore.

Gilmore formerly played for the Pittsburgh Steelers before the Steelers decided to not re-sign him.

The decision by New England to sign Gilmore is not unlike the Patriots. In fact, the Patriots have a history of signing top-shelf DBs for short-term contracts, like they did with Darrelle Revis and Aqib Talib. Both have since departed and signed deals with other teams.

Now, it appears that the Patriots will look to do the same with Gilmore giving them possibly the best cornerback tandem with star cornerback Malcolm Butler. Gilmore garnered a 73.2 PFF grade for his outstanding play in 2016.

A. The Patriots already have a fantastic CB in Malcolm Butler. Adding Stephon Gilmore just isn’t fair. The Super Bowl champs just keep finding ways to get an advantage over the rest of the NFL.. CB. New England Patriots. STEPHON GILMORE
