Andrew Whitworth

The Los Angeles Rams where in the market for a left tackle and settled on former Cincinnati Bengals left tackle Andrew Whitworth.

Whitworth entered the NFL free agency period as PFF’s highest-graded tackle but, age age 35, he is basically nothing more than a stopgap option at best.

The Rams will still need to draft a blindside defender at some point in this year’s draft. This is a big misstep for the LA club as there were some nice left tackle options available on the open market.

The Rams should have looked for younger options in free agency, period.
