The San Francisco 49ers should take a hard look at these 10 free agents who were not franchise tagged by their respective NFL teams by the March 1 deadline.

The NFL’s deadline for teams to slap franchise tags on pending free agents has passed — March 1 — and those players will be free to sign with any team once free agency kicks off on March 9.

And more than a handful of those players should be on the San Francisco 49ers’ radar.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport broke down the list of franchise-tagged players shortly after the deadline passed:

While teams can still attempt to trade for franchise-tagged players, these kinds of moves are rare. So hoping a player like edge rushers Chandler Jones or Melvin Ingram of the Arizona Cardinals and Los Angeles Chargers, respectively, is all but useless.

Still, there are number of players worth considering for the Niners this offseason. Let’s look at 10 free agents general manager John Lynch should consider adding for 2017.
