No. 3: Antonio Langham — Cornerback (1998)

Another misfire in the 1998 offseason was the signing of cornerback Antonio Langham, the former college standout from Alabama.

He was thought to be a shutdown corner coming into free agency and signed a five-year deal worth $17 million in the wake of four solid seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and Browns.

He couldn’t live up to the billing and started 11 games, giving up six touchdowns and eight pass-interference penalties in one season with the Niners.

Langham was released at the end of the season.
