Jets vs. 49ers: Previewing Week 14 for San Francisco
By Peter Panacy
The San Francisco 49ers host the New York Jets at Levi’s Stadium for a Week 14 matchup between two scuffling teams. Niner Noise breaks down this contest, talks about matchups, injuries, X-factors and more.
Get ready, Faithful, as the San Francisco 49ers host the mighty New York Jets at Levi’s Stadium for what promises to be an epic showdown between two NFL powerhouses.
OK, we’re kidding. Sunday’s game might be just as ugly as the Niners’ 26-6 loss to the Chicago Bears a week ago. Or it could be as ugly as the Jets’ 41-10 drubbing at the hands of the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football.
Both of these teams are bad. Tremendously bad.
The 49ers are still riding their franchise-worst 11-game losing streak. At 3-9, New York hasn’t won a game since Week 8 at the winless Cleveland Browns.
So much for excitement.
Regardless of the ineptitude from both teams, a game remains to be played. And there still could be a lot on the line for both teams.
Positioning in the NFL Draft is at stake. There are plenty of questions at quarterback. Both head coaches, the Niners’ Chip Kelly and the Jets’ Todd Bowles, would ideally like to finish this season with some positives in their respective back pockets.
While we can’t promise any sort of excitement from this bout, let’s at least break down what to expect in this Jets-versus-49ers preview.
