Packers vs. 49ers: 5 Biggest Takeaways for San Francisco

Quarterback Jeff Driskel will start at some point in 2016
Blaine Gabbert is the starter… for now.
Sixth-round quarterback Jeff Driskel is not ready to be a starting QB in the NFL. However, with the play from the quarterbacks ahead of him, it might not matter if he is ready or not.
So far within the preseason, Driskel looks to be the QB with the most understanding of the offense. He goes through his progressions well and when needed, can extend the play with his legs.
Driskel’s stat line should also look better than it is. Time and time again, he made the correct read and delivered an accurate throw only to be dropped by one of the 49ers wide receivers.
With the unsure play of Gabbert, if the 49ers struggle early, look for Driskel to have to step in.
