Corner Back

  1. Tramaine Brock
  2. Jimmie Ward
  3. Chris Davis (Nickel)

Tramaine Brock has played well in training camp and had some good plays against the Texans. He remains consistent, and he will have to stay that way to keep his spot. The competition at the corner spot is heated, and it seems to be bringing the best out of Brock.

Third-year defensive back Jimmie Ward is having a sensational training camp and it has shown. Ward is the best cornerback on the 49ers, and he continues to prove that on a daily basis. He will retain his starting spot in Week 2 of the preseason.

Previously undrafted, Chris Davis has sure made a name for himself recently. Davis has been a big surprise in training camp, enough to earn him the starting role at the nickel corner position. His physical play has stood out and, in Week 2, expect much of the same.
