Preseason is approaching fast and, with the San Francisco 49ers in full rebuild, there are plenty of unanswered questions still unanswered. The final 53-man roster will reveal surprises, and here are five players who should make the team but won’t.

Training camp is in full swing and, with preseason around the corner, the competition for the San Francisco 49ers is going to be fierce.

The team has been infused with youth. These players are hungry, and the majority of the roster is playing as if it has something to prove.

That will make an already hard task even harder for head coach Chip Kelly, in terms of cutting down the roster to 53 players.

For the first time in three seasons, the 49ers find themselves with depth at just about every position.

As a head coach, just starting to mold the identity of his very young and impressionable team, Kelly finds himself in the greatest scenario possible — he has options.

Some players will go to the practice squad. That’s a given. But the rest of the team not making the cut will have to seek out employment from other teams or be forced to watch the 2016 NFL season from the sidelines or even at home.
