Left Guard
V1.0 Assessment:
Starter: Zane Beadles
Backup: Andrew Tiller
V2.0 Assessment:
No changes.
Not much of a surprise here. Free-agent acquisition Zane Beadles will likely start at left guard, and the 49ers are hoping he can emulate the efforts which resulted in a 2012 Pro Bowl bid with the Denver Broncos.
But don’t sleep on guard Andrew Tiller either.
Tiller finished strong in 2015 and posted a plus-5.8 overall grade, per Pro Football Focus, and was one of the better run-blocking linemen the 49ers had last season.
If, for whatever reason, Beadles struggles or suffers an injury, Tiller is one of the better backup options the 49ers have.
Next: Right Guard
