We are now just nine days away from the start of training camp for the San Francisco 49ers. There are several key questions which will be answered during camp. Who is going to be the starting quarterback? Who will make up the wide receiver group? Who will step up to help the pass-rush in Aaron Lynch’s absence? Niner Noise takes a look at five players who will shine during camp and make their case known they should be starting in Week 1.

When you throw in the complete new coaching staff, there have been large changes in Santa Clara. We have seen the form guide through the offseason OTAs and minicamp. Certain players did well and others struggled for the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers squad is young by NFL standards. For the team to compete in 2016, it needs a quick maturation for several members of this youth brigade. It also needs a boost from the players who have the two-to-four year league experience. The 49ers offense desperately needs career-years from receivers Quinton Patton and Bruce Ellington, and tight end Vance McDonald in particular.

The 49ers defense, fresh off a paltry 28 sacks in 2015, also needs a lift from certain experienced defenders, such as linebackers Eli Harold and Tank Carradine, and defensive lineman Quinton Dial. Will these guys respond to the new coaching staff and the new game plan? Will they be fit enough to maintain the Chip Kelly tempo?

For this list, players will be selected by where they sit on the depth chart and the opportunity they have presented in front of them. Not everyone will agree with this list, because, well we all have players we like more than others. There is no guarantee any of these players will shine through, but you have to play the game to win, right?

So without any further ado, let’s get started! Who would you have on your list?
