Jeff Driskel

Role:

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jeff Driskel comes into training camp as the fourth quarterback on the depth chart. His raw athleticism and prototypical size will give him an advantage over third-string quarterback Thad Lewis.

Driskel has a lot of potential and, if coached right, he can become  a good player. His role in 2016 will likely be on the practice squad, as the 49ers rarely ever keep three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster.

However, Driskel’s potential might force the 49ers to keep him on the roster in fear of him being signed by another team off waivers.

Depth Chart:

Third-string quarterback/practice squad.

Impact:

Three to four seasons. Driskel has a lot of raw potential which will take time to start showing. If Driskel is coached right, he can become a starting-caliber quarterback.

Stat Prediction:

N/A
