Offensive Line

Joe Staley– Duh.

Joshua Garnett– Again, duh.

Daniel Kilgore– Kilgore should easily beat Marcus Martin to start at center. Just stay healthy for the entire season. He’s not dominant, but he’s solid.

Zane Beadles– The San Francisco 49ers’ splash free-agent guard beats out Andrew Tiller in the preseason.

Trent Brown– The team got to see some of Brown towards the end of last year and, at times, he looked adequate. If he can get his weight under control and at a level that Kelly likes, he could be the starting right tackle in 2016.

Marcus Martin– Martin is still young and, although he lacks any sort of play strength, he is a backup to any interior position. That’s valuable.

Eric Pears– Pears can play any position on the line besides center. The team needs a veteran swing tackle that can handle the duties of learning every position despite possibly never playing them. Give the role to Pears and make him feel good about himself.

John Theus– Theus is the fifth-round draft choice that gets to stick on the active roster while Fahn Cooper spends a year on the practice squad. This one was a tough choice. I really didn’t like Theus’ tape.

Andrew Tiller– The 49ers need someone that plays with a little bit of nastiness. Garnett might be that guy, If so, that makes Tiller expendable.

Starters: From left tackle to right tackle, it’s the first five of the list.
