The San Francisco 49ers have an inexperienced roster entering training camp. If the team expects success in 2016, they’ll need major improvements from young players on the team. Niner Noise looks at five players that may break out in 2016.

The San Francisco 49ers have seen major roster turnover in just a couple of years. The once stable and secure roster is now full of hopeful anticipation. The players that the 49ers are relying on are young, inexperienced and don’t come with much of a record of success.

Despite having plenty of cap space, the team didn’t make any splash signings in free agency. Baalke didn’t rush out to build the roster with expensive veterans. Instead, he chose to enter the summer with the current roster, chock-full of bright-eyed players that fans are hoping will finally contribute.

For the 49ers, the lack of veteran competition may be a good thing. The 2016 season is likely a wash. Let’s make that clear. If this team wins more than eight games, it would be an impressive feat from Chip Kelly in his first year.

The 2016 season should be about determining what the team has in their younger players. Trent Baalke needs to know where the core of this team is moving forward. Fortunately, the team has players that seem ready to make themselves the next group of leaders on the 49ers.

In no particular order, here are five players that are poised to break out in 2016.
