Week 7 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

With a 2-4 record, the 49ers may be able to right the ship against a struggling Tampa Bay Buccaneers team traveling west and coming off a 6-10 finish a year ago.

True, quarterback Jameis Winston is ascending. And the coaching changes within the Bucs’ organization could wind up making some notable differences. We won’t know until a good chunk of the regular season is in the books.

But Tampa Bay still has plenty of holes to be filled on the defensive side of the ball. Remember, this is a team which finished 26th in the league with 417 points allowed — a perfect opportunity for head coach Chip Kelly to maximize his offense, even if the 49ers lack weapons on this side of the ball.

The Buccaneers do have an advantage in that they’re coming off their bye week. So the added week of preparation and rest does play into their hands.

Still, the westward travel is tough on anyone regardless of the added break. So Tampa Bay will still wind up being exposed, and the 49ers find their third win of the season.

Prediction: Win
